Dave and Jenny Clifford opened their farm gate shop in 1993 after Dave’s hobby of beekeeping became an important sideline on the sheep farm. Today it is the main business and employs three generations of Clifford’s.
Dave and his family harvest honey from 300 hives which are migrated around Kangaroo Island, with the bees making honey from local eucalypt flowers such as sugar gum and other native and introduced flora.
A visit to the farm is a tasting experience where you can try different varieties of honey and enjoy Jenny’s famous honey icecream along with a variety of tasty honey treats that are available at the farm gate shop.
Kangaroo Island is home to the last pure strain of Ligurian bees in the world. The unique Ligurian bees can be viewed in a glass hive and you can learn all about harvesting honey.
Honey is available for purchase from Clifford’s Honey Farm. Direct mail orders are welcome.
