Business people on Kangaroo Island are invited for a sneak peek at the new KI Community Directory and to provide their feedback, at the KI Brewery next week.
KI Business and Brand Alliance (KIBBA) is working with the KI Community Centre (KICC) to bring the much-loved directory to a new digital platform. KIBBA will have charge of the business section – the yellow pages – and KICC will administer the community section – the blue pages.
KIBBA chairman Brett Miller said the community directory had been a long-term fundraiser for KI Children’s Services and was a fixture in many businesses. “Credit to Children’s Services for its many years of commitment and we are pleased they will hand over to us. We hope in time to be able to reprint it and to look at the white pages in a printed form. Right now we feel the priority is to update the information and provide a one-stop digital destination for KI business.”
He invited businesses to attend the networking event at the KI Brewery on Thursday, November 14 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
“I’m looking forward to meeting many more business people on Kangaroo Island. As the new chair of KIBBA I’m keen to hear about their concerns and how they would like our organisation to work.” Mr Miller is a director of Kangaroo Island Dental and was on the board of the previous KI Industry and Brand Alliance before its amalgamation with Business Kangaroo Island.
KIBBA has 160 members, including Brand Partners and Business Members. As well as looking at plans for the new directory, guest speaker Craig Markey from Bedford Industries will explore packaging and distribution solutions for local businesses, and Helen Smith from SAFECOM will discuss ways to support emergency service volunteers in your business.
Members and non-members are invited. KIBBA will provide finger food and shout your first drink. Please register for catering purposes or for more information email to [email protected].
