First Sunday of every month – plus Easter Sunday – the farming and food community comes together at Penneshaw for the Kangaroo Island Farmers’ Market.

Makers, growers, bakers, home gardeners and a range of artisan producers engage with the Island’s community and visitors, who come to taste and learn about local produce and stock their pantries and fridges.

Each month the seasonal selection might include local lamb and smallgoods, olive oil, organic honey, truly free-range eggs,  sheep cheeses and yoghurts, sticky figs and fig syrup, handmade cordials, curry pastes, chutneys and relishes, local wine, old-fashioned biscuits and a range of other handmade delicacies, all complemented by fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Skip breakfast and come early! There are plenty of tastings, as well as cooked breakfast and lunch, delicious coffee and a great village atmosphere in a spectacular location right alongside the beach.
